The only thing worse than wisdom tooth pain is wisdom tooth pain while you are pregnant. Why? Well, it is because you cannot rush to the doctor and get pain medication to knock out the pain. In fact, all your dentist or doctor is going to do is recommend how much Tylenol you can take in a day that is safe for the baby. If you’ve ever had wisdom tooth pain, you know a few regular strength Tylenols doesn’t do much for the pain. Fortunately, there are some safe home remedies you can try.

Always Try Some Tylenol

A large part of the time, Tylenol is not going to take away Wisdom tooth pain. The problem is that wisdom tooth pain is one of the worst oral pains you will feel. But, that does not mean the Tylenol does not help with the pain. Furthermore, it tends to make other natural and safe remedies work better.

Try Clove Paste or Clove Oil

Purchase ground cloves from the seasoning section in your local grocery store and mix it with water to make a paste. You can apply the paste to the area of your mouth that is hurting. It may sting at first, but it will numb your mouth and make the pain go away for a while. Unfortunately, cloves do not smell or taste that great. But, they do work and they are safe for the baby.

Salt and Warm Water

Rinse your mouth out with salt and warm water a few times a day. It might seem cliché, but it is a very effective way to help reduce the amount of discomfort you are feeling. In some cases, even mouthwash can help.

Lastly, you can try applying a warm or cold cloth to the pained area. Some women like sleeping with a cloth in their mouth to bite on and help relieve the pain. If the pain gets unbearable or none of these seem to help, talk to a dentist.
